From Drawing Review to Batch Production
Start with an unambiguous drawing
Send a drawing with its revision, dimensions, units, material and finish. Mark critical interfaces and tolerances rather than assuming every dimension needs the same accuracy. Include a sample or photographs when they explain a feature that the drawing does not show clearly.
Separate technical review from commercial terms
Ask for feedback on the proposed process, inspection method and any tooling needed. State prototype quantity, expected batch quantity and repeat-order needs. Confirm tooling ownership, packaging and delivery terms in the quotation rather than assuming they are included.
Agree how the sample will be accepted
Record the drawing revision and acceptance checks before a sample is made. Review dimensions, finish and fit with mating parts. Keep a written record of accepted results and requested changes so the production specification is traceable.
Release the batch against the agreed specification
Confirm the final drawing, quantity, inspection requirements and packaging before authorizing production. If anything changes after sampling, ask whether a new sample or inspection is needed.
